We don't profess to be any form of experts regarding meningiomas of any type, whether in children or adults. However, we do know a lot about being the parents of a child who has had meningiomas on more than one occasion, who continues to go through many of the treatments referred to on this site, and who unfortunately hasn't come through it all 'unscathed'. In this respect, we have lived the emotional pain, anxiety, fear, and all the other experiences that all parents hope will never come to their child or themselves. I decided to have a go at setting up a web site from the point of view of a parent. I suppose it has also been part of my process of dealing with the situation, but if it is helpful to just one other family, it has been very much worthwhile. In actual fact, it hasn't really been too difficult to do, and so i hope to expand on it as time goes by- Anthony.

The Walton Centre for Neurology & Neurosurgery- An internationally recognised centre of excellence, and the only hospital capable of saving our daughter's life following diagnosis of her first tumour in 2003.
Royal Liverpool Children's NHS Trust, Alder Hey- The largest children's hospital in Western Europe. Following the recent transfer & expansion of the specialised children's ward from the Walton Centre to Alder Hey, our daughter's most recent tumour was resected here in June 2006.

Diana Farragher OBE- The Lindens Clinic, in Manchester, is an internationally established centre of excellence for the treatment of facial paralysis and regularly welcomes patients from throughout Europe.
Contact A Family- Contact a Family is a UK- wide charity providing advice, information and support to the parents of all disabled children.
Brain & Spine Foundation- The Brain and Spine Foundation was set up in 1992 to develop research, education and information programmes aimed at improving the prevention, treatment and care of people affected by disorders of the brain and spine and to stimulate the greater allocation of resources across all neurological disorders.
Meningioma UK- A national support group dedicated to giving help and information to people diagnosed with this type of brain or spinal tumour.
Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center- A US based sited with reliable background information related to pediatric brain tumours.
Children's Hospital Boston- A US children's hospital with reliable background information related to many pediatric conditions.
